Location : 

The sanctuary is situated in the Chittur taluk of Palakkad revenue district in the state of Kerala. Surrounding the sanctuary are Pollachi and Valparai taluks of Coimbatore district in the state of Tamil Nadu and Thrissur and Mukundapuram taluks of Thrissur district of Kerala.

You must Be come Via :  Pollachi  > Anaimalai  > Sethumadai  > Topslip

  1. Follow the entry/gate timing strictly ie: 7am -6 pm
  2. Do not disturb or tease animals
  3. Give way to animals first.
  4. Animal sightings are matter of chance. Be patient.
  5. Total silence and discipline enhances the chances of animal sightings
  6. Respect animals and their habits.
  7. Consuming alcohol or visiting tiger reserve under the influence of alcohol is strictly prohibited.
  8. Smoking is strictly prohibited
  9. Do not carry any inflammable materials
  10.  Please do not litter the surroundings. Plastics are completely prohibited
  11.  Small groups are always preferred. Early mornings and late afternoons are ideal to visit Forests
  12.  Do not wear colorful clothes or perfumes during visit. Colours like Khakis, browns and greens are best suited for forests
  13.  Always carry a drinking water
  14.  Trekkers are advised to use jungle boots to ensure safety.
  15.  Carry a first aid kit with medicines for common ailments.
  16.   Always follow the instructions of the staffs and the Naturalists
  17.  Be careful during boat rides. Don’t do anything that will rock the boat or endanger lives.
  18.  Carry a note pad, flashlight, road maps, bus, train and airline time tables.
  19.  Follow the instruction given by Information Centre at the beginning.

Any person who contravenes or violates the rules and regulations of Tiger reserve shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years or with fine which may extend to twenty five thousand rupees or with both
